John Bolton wants to regime change the world.

John Bolton, Trump's new national security advisor embodies everything that was wrong with US foreign policy in the 21th century.

His favorite solution for any threat any country might pose to the US national security, whether real or made up, is simple, bomb, invade and regime change. John Bolton was George W Bush's ambassador to the UN during the disastrous 2003 Iraq war. Bolton was also part of neocon gang that surrounded Bush in those years who convinced him that Iraq had WMD's and that the US, in the interests of national security, had to invade it and regime change it. When it comes to Iran, Bolton has publicly stated that he thinks that the US should tear up the Iran nuclear deal. What's his solution to Iran's nuclear aspirations? He repeatedly argued that Iran's nuclear disarmament will be best achieved through regime change delivered by US military might. Or as he put it in a article he wrote in 2015: “To Stop Iran’s Bomb, Bomb Iran.”

When it comes to North Korea he holds the same view as does about Iran. Bolton, a former lawyer who like Trump avoided going to Vietnam, has advocated three different military options against North Korea: against nuclear facilities, bringing down a missile test, or an assassination of Kim Jong-un. Again, war and regime change.

Bolton has also argued that this would be the solution for the Syrian civil war, that the US should overthrow Assad and institute a regime change. Of course Bolton was an enthusiastic supporter of the US and NATO's catastrophic regime change in Libya in 2011. When it comes to Russia Bolton would be more than happy to go to war over literally any excuse. In a recent interview, Bolton described Russia’s attempts to undermine the U.S. election as “a casus belli, a true act of war, and one Washington will never tolerate.”

John Bolton used to be just a war mongering lunatic no one really paid attention to, but now this war mongering lunatic is the one who will be setting the US national security policy in the foreseeable future. So far no country has been invaded by the US or had its regime changed by the Trump administration, but than again he's only been Trump's national security advisor for less than a year, who knows what the future might hold.
