FB's censorship exposed.

Facebook, now arguably the most important distributor of news online, has cultivated the idea that it is a "neutral" website which is dedicated to the hallowed democratic value of "free speech", but the truth is that FB has been censoring, hiding and deleting people, pages and news outlets which express different political views than the ones that FB's founder Mark Zuckerberg adheres to. Facebook workers routinely suppressed news stories of interest to conservative readers from the social network’s influential “trending” news section, according to a former journalist who worked on the project. This individual says that workers prevented stories about the right-wing CPAC gathering, Mitt Romney, Rand Paul, and other conservative topics from appearing in the highly-influential section, even though they were organically trending among the site’s users. This is in stark contrast to the company’s claims that the "trending" module simply lists “topics that have recently become popular on Facebook.” This is hardly the first time FB and Zuckerberg been found censoring and manipulating news on the timeline. Last year German Chancellor Angela Merkel was overheard on a hot mic confronting Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg over anti-migrant posts, amid complaints from her government that the social network isn’t doing enough to curtail anti migrant comments and posts on FB. After Ms. Merkel asked Mr. Zuckerberg about critical posts on the refugee crisis, the Facebook CEO said “we need to do some work” on the issue. A short time later a huge number of pages and people who were critical of the German government's migrant policy were outright deleted by FB, without any notice or warning. "If you want to be free, or you want to preserve freedom for people, you both need to have laws that make it so people have freedom of speech and all the freedoms that they need." - Mark Zuckerberg.
